Here are some of the frequently asked questions and answers about our web hosting services. If you have a question that isn't answered below, please feel free to email us at info@golivehost.com.

What support can I expect from GoLiveHost?
We pride ourselves on our support service. We offer priority email support to all of our customers, as well as maintain detailed and up-to-date support information online. Our support staff are available 7 days a week, and will respond to your enquiries quickly. We also keep the servers well maintained and aim to perform at the highest level, and securely, at all times.
 
 
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes! We are so confident you will be happy with our web hosting services that we offer a 30 day, "no questions asked" money back guarantee, if you aren't satisfied with our service or the server setup. After that, we offer refunds on a pro-rata basis, based on monthly periods. (i.e. if you have an annual plan, and have been hosting with us for 7-1/2 months, you will recieve a refund for the 4 unused months)
 
"No questions asked" is in quotes above because while we will refund your money without question, we will also try and find out the problems you experienced so that they do not happen again.
 
 
Annual Prepayment
Even if you are just starting out, but you think your site will expand it is worth considering the annual prepayment option which gets you 2 months hosting free every year!
 
 
Do you have an affiliate program, or discounts for hosting multiple sites?
Yes! We offer generous discounts for hosting multiple sites, with the pricing structure as outlined here.
 
1st site - price on site
2 to 5 sites - Discount of 15% (per site)
6+ sites - Discount of 30% (per site)
 
This means that for 500MB web hosting accounts, the price would be $11.95/month ($119.50/yr) for the first site, $10/month ($100/yr) for the second to fifth sites, and $8.25/month ($82.50/yr) for any sites after that. You will receive the links for ordering the discounted sites after you order the first hosting account.

(Please note - These discounts only apply to Web Hosting and Managed Hosting accounts, they do not apply to Virtual Dedicated Servers, Dedicated Servers or development costs.)
 
 
Do you support FrontPage 98 / 2000 / 2002?
Yes! All our packages come with optional FrontPage extensions at no extra charge. If you need Frontpage extensions installed in your site, please use one of our support options to let us know
 
 
We want a website for our company but don't know how to make one?
Please check our Partners page for web design and development companies affiliated with GoLiveHost, or that GoLiveHost recommends. These developers know our servers and create quality websites, from simple "brochureware" sites, through to fully featured ecommerce and web application solutions.
 
 
What credit cards do you accept?
Currently we can process Visa, Mastercard, Novus/Discover, American Express, Diners Club, and JCB cards.
 
 
Why does my credit card bill say "2Checkout.com Inc"?
2Checkout is the authorized retailer for GoliveHost services. This automatic billing system reduces our administration costs, the level of fraudulent transactions, and helps keep our costs lower for you.
 
 
Can you host International domains?
Yes. GoLiveHost can host any top level International domain. We can even register names for you in almost any country specific top level domain. See our domain registration pages for more information.
 
 
Can you hold a domain name for me until I have a website ready?
All domains have to be listed on two name servers in order to be purchased. If you register your domain through our domain registration page, you can park your domain with us free of charge until your website is ready.
 
 
Can you host subdomains?
Yes. Our packages include unlimited subdomains.
 
 
What operating system are your servers running?
Our servers are running the Apache 2 web server on the Linux platform. This is a highly stable platform, integral to our aim of achieving 100% uptime for your website. More information on what is running on our servers is available on the services page.
 
 
Do you support PHP4?
Yes. PHP 4.4.x is the current version installed. XLST processing through PHP is also enabled. If you need custom modules installed please let us know and we can usually accommodate your needs.
 
 
Do you support JSP?
We only support JSP on our VDS and dedicated server packages, rather than our shared hosting accounts. The extra resources used by JSP is not really suitable for shared hosting environments.
 
 
Do you support ASP?
Not currently. We are also reviewing Linux ASP solutions, and are looking at adding ASP capability to our Linux servers in the future.
 
 
Do you support the Dynamic Content feature in GoLive & Dreamweaver MX ?
Yes. Our servers are fully compatible with Dynamic Content when using PHP/MySQL in GoLive (version 6) and Dreamweaver (MX, MX 2004, V8). They are also fully compatible with GoLive CS & CS2, but these versions don't have Dynamic Content features built-in.
 
 
How do I transfer a domain name to your servers?
We will help you with this process as much as possible. For our standard hosting plans you need to contact the registrar who registered the domain name with and ask them to change the Name Servers to ours (you can often do this through a control panel at your registrar). This process is covered for most registrars in our tutorials. You will be given further information after ordering a hosting account and we will also guide you through the process if you need us to.
 
 
Can you change my MX record?
Yes, we can change your MX record so that your e-mail addresses are directed to another mail server, or add backup mail servers to your configuration if you require.
 
 
Some hosts offer "unlimited" bandwidth, why don't you?
When we set up GoLiveHost we wanted it to be an extremely reliable web hosting company, and maintain a proper and sustainable hosting model. While many companies quote "unlimited" or "unmetered" bandwidth allocations, you'll usually find in the small print that they have the right to remove your site without warning if you are using too much bandwidth. This means they have a limit but they are not prepared to tell you what it is. They need to have this clause because bandwidth (or data transfer) costs money.
 
 
What happens if I exceed my bandwidth allocation?
First, don't panic. The chances of going over the limit are very small, and you can have tens of thousands of page views per GB. Our web hosting packages come with a generous amount of bandwidth included each month. You can monitor your use of this from within your control panel. If you do exceed your bandwidth quotas on a regular basis, we can extend these quotas for you for a small monthly fee. Once off small bandwidth overages are usually not charged, it's only if it happens on a regular basis that you'll need to look at increasing your quota levels.
